A Port Harcourt-
based lawyer and human rights activist, Barr. Chijoke Agi, has condemned  the carnage in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Agi, who stated this while speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt at the weekend, expressed regrets that the situation was worsening by the day.
He said the problem in the area was not only cult related but had other components.
The Port Harcourt lawyer explained the present carnage in the area could plunge it to what he described as the “dark ages”.
Agi remarked that killing of youths who were the leaders of tomorrow would continue to hunt the people in years to come.
He said that people would continue to count their losses in this period of festering violence in the area.
He called on all tiers of government to join hands in order to rid the state and ONELGA in particular of hoodlums who have wreaked havoc in the area.
Agi noted that unless the problem in the area was addressed it was capable of spreading to neighbouring local government areas in the state.
He also called on the law enforcement agents to address the matter urgently in order to avoid a spill over effect on the society and pointed out that ONELGA people were already refugees in order parts of the state.
