Union Demands Reason For Sacked Members

Chemical Roofwear, Rubber Leather and Non-Metallic Products Employees (NUCFRLANMPE), has demanded an explaination from the management of Nycil Nigeria Limited for the sack of some of the union members recently by the company.
A statement issued in Lagos on Wednesday, by the Union National President, Comrade Boniface Isok said that the union was not against disengagement of any employee, but the company must provide good reasons why such sack arrangement should be carried out without any negotiation with the union leadership.
The NUCFRLANMPE boss said the union directed its members to step down all forms of operation in the company until the management discuses with the union and step all forms of inhuman treatment on the workers.
He said that the workers that were sacked in December would be paid one year salary as their entitlements instead of three months salary in lieu of notice.
The Tide learnt that the company based in Sango Ota Ogun State is into manufacturing and reasons for termination of the union members was not disclosed appointments.
Isok said the company’s management carried out indiscriminate termination of the union members appointment without proper negotiation with the union leadership before sacking the workers.
The union leader said that the company in June 2015 sacked about 45 members of union without the union issuing any query to the company for explanation rather, the union directed its members to continue their work in peace.
He said the union was provoked by the December 31, 2015 directive where 17 workers including four union marketing officers of synthetic resins, emulsion and allied chemicals.
