The Rivers State
Government says efforts are ongoing to unravel the circumstances that led to the burning of the state-owned plantain farm in Tai Local Government Area.
A reliable source in the state Ministry of Agriculture which spoke to The Tide explained that the ministry was on top of the matter.
According to the source, the insinuation in some quarters that a woman deliberately set fore on the farm was not tenable.
Dispelling rumours of sabotage to the incident, the source said it could not be unconnected with mischief makers who are bent on running down the present government under Governor Nyesom Wike.
The Tide, however, gathered that the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Tai Local Government Area, Dr. Mensua Nwibari has since spoken against sabotaging of the fire outbreak in the plantain farm.
However, according to the source in the ministry, the government would not spare any effort to unravel the cause of the fir at the plantain farm.
