Rivers Cricket League To Start, Next Week

Organisers of the
annual cricket competition in Rivers State tagged Port Harcourt Cricket League have said that plans have been concluded to kick-off the FIFTH edition of the championship next weekend, in Port Harcourt.
One of the organizers of the event coach Tonye Timinadi, disclosed this yesterday in an interview with Tidesports.
According to coach Timinadi who is also the head coach of the Rivers State cricket Association a meeting was held yesterday by organizers of the event to further ensure that the competition is hitch-free and memorable.
The competition would be contested amongst four cricket clubs in the state, Benvic, whales, panthers and 11 cricket clubs.
“We are doing our very best to see that the programme is successful,” he said.
The League matches are expected to be played at the usual venue, University of Port Harcourt, (UNIPORT) Cricket pitch, Choba.
Benvie Cricket Club is the defending champion of the 2016 league competition.
