NIRA Urges Subscribers To Choose Good Domain Names

istration Association (NIRA), has urged Nigerian subscribers to choose good domain names, so as to boost their on line presence.
The Tide online source, who credited the statement to Mr Sunday Falayan, the president of the Assocaition, said he gave the advice to newsmen in Lagos.
According to him, subscribers should consider a unique name that will be short and simple.
Folayan, noted that such names must not include number and dashes, but should be easy to sue and understand.
He explained that a good domain name must not be difficult to spell and memorise, while calling on internet users to shun usage of any copyright or trade-mark names.
“Use keywords that are relevant to your topic, consider your target audience before choosing a name, name your website after your business, always try to register your name,” he said.
Furthermore, he stressed the need for a domain name, adding that it can affect the potential success of one’s online presence.
Meanwhile, the manager of Avidmedia Consultancy, Mr Godwin Tunde, has blamed telecommunication providers for all the challenges facing internet subscribers in the country.
Tunde in an exclusive interview with The Tide Tuesday in Port Harcourt, said if the internet system was vibrant, the issue of domain would not be a problem.
