Man, 42, Arraigned For Reckless Driving In Abuja
A 42-year-old, Chukwudi
Samuel, who allegedly drove his 407 Peugeot car recklessly and damaged a car, was on Thursday brought before a Wuse Zone 2 Magistrates’ Court, Abuja.
The accused, who lives at 219, FHA, Karu, Abuja, is being tried for reckless driving, a contravention of Section 128 of the Road Traffic Act.
Prosecutor Christopher Johnson told the court that Samuel drove a 407 Peugeot car marked KZ 224 KJA without respect to other road users on December 28, 2015.
He said the case was reported at Wuse Zone 3 Police Station on December 30.
According to Johnson, the accused drove the car at Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2, in a dangerous manner and damaged a Toyota Venza belonging to Mr Adeyemo George, parked in front of his office.
The accused pleaded not guilty.
The Senior Magistrate, Mr Temino Zimzu, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety, who must be above 35 years.
In addition, he said, the surety’s family should reside within the court’s jurisdiction and should also be a businessman and shop owner in the FCT.
Further hearing in the case has been adjourned to February 8.
