Joint Council Urges Support For Wike

vice Negotiating Council (JPSNC), Rivers State chapter, has called on civil servants in the state to show understanding and cooperation with the state government.
Speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt recently, the state Member Chairman of the union, Comrade Chukwu Emecheta, said the December salary has been paid.
Emecheta said the union will always accord priority attention to workers welfare, stressing that the leadership of the union will never compromise their integrity on the betterment of the living conditions of the workers’
He said the Accountant General has properly explained the circumstances that necessitated the delay in the December salary saying relevant measures had been put in place by the state government to address such issue in future.
He appealed to civil servants to always show their appreciation to the state government over its commitment to regular salary payment and even clearing the backlog of salary arrears to civil servants and pensioners
He enjoined the civil servants to remain committed, dedicated and hardworking in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities.
The labour leader further thanked the state government for the immediate commencement of the payment of December salary to workers of the state.
