Group Calls For Kidnapped Doctors’ Release
The African Global Development for Drastic Change a non-governmental organisation and non-political organisation that promotes peace and good governance in Africa,has called for the release of the kidnapped both Dr Isaac Opurum and Dr Aprioku.
Aprioku, an employee of the state owned Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital, was kidnapped on Sunday, 10th January, 2016 while leaving church after service.
Opurum, who is the director of community house service in the state Primary Health Management Board, was kidnapped around 3am on Tuesday, 12thJanuary, 2016 at his residence at Iwofe in Obio/Akpor L.G.A, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The NGO said it has drawn the attention of the Federal Government and the Inspector General of Police, Rivers State Government, DSS, Rivers State Commissioner of Police and other security agencies to release the victims from the den of kidnappers.
Both individuals have been peaceful, responsible and law abiding citizen”, it said and called on Egbeke people in Etche to remain peaceful,and pray for the quick release of their son.
“We appeal to security agencies to double up efforts to bring down the spate of kidnappings in the state, it added.
