The Harmattan sea
son comes with windy, dusty, shriveling cold and dry atmosphere, and it is officially here.
The season is the period whereby females need to be ready and get their guards on in order to avoid looking like a desert tortoise. They need optimum or the best and suitable moistiroser to moisturiser to their skin.
According to our elderly parents, this season is the season when young men select their wives. It is told that young girls who do not know how to take care of themselves, who are dirty are known during the period of harmattan.
However, there are some ways or things we can do as ladies to look beautiful, for our skin to look soft, shiny and glowing.
Water is very necessary, preferably warm water. Drinking a lot of water will keep the body hydrated and give the skin a nice moist.
Fruits with high water content, good for those who feel taking much water is a difficult task, they could try out cucumbers, water melon, tomatoes, and lettuce and ice berg. This will help keep you hydrated.
The hands and hips are the most vulnerable areas of the body during this season. Ladies need to take extra care of these areas as they tend to swipe out the moisture from them very often, like when  they eat, or visit the kitchen. They should ensure to have their wet lips and hand lotion.
To 19 year old Substance Atams, “some girls use lotion body cream during the harmattan, and does not last for a long time, it gets dried up. I think it is better if they use Vaseline, to keep their body creamy. They should also make use of wet lips to avoid broken and squized lips. “As for me, I use Vaseline, body pears when it is harmattan,” she said.
To 20 year old Onyinyechi Chukwu, “I think that lotion cream should be added with Vaseline during harmattan, to keep the skin glittering.  Wet lips should not be lacking in our hand bags. Dry powder is not good for harmattan season, the wet powder is more preferable,” she said.
Make it a duty to cleanse your skin in the morning and at night to remove make-up, dust and any other impurities from it.
Also, go for regular cleanse-up which involves a massage and a pack and will improve blood circulation to the skin.
More so, exercising helps in better blood circulation and getting good oxygen in your body when you work out, you also sweat, which releases toxins and all these combined efforts lead to a glow in your skin.
