Fun Galore As Orada Celebrates 10 Years Of Excellence

It was fun galore recently as
Orada International School Ozuoba in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State celebrated her 10th anniversary of academic excellence under the distinguished Chairmanship of the Honourable Commissioner for Works Rivers State, Engr Ken K. Nwachukwu.
The event which took place at the school premises on Saturday 19th December 2015 featured cultural display, drama presentation, poem rendition, unveiling of the school magazine, cutting of the anniversary cake, merit awards and other side attractions.
In his address at the occasion, the Chairman, Engr. Nwachukwu emphasised the importance of education in society and urged parents and guardians to invest in the academic pursuit of their children and wards as future leaders of our great country Nigeria. He also charged them to discourage their children from engaging in cult related activities and other social vices inimical to the development of the country.
The chairman commended the proprietor of the school, Mr Vincent Ichella, for setting academic and moral standards among the pupils which he said are worthy of emulation. He also assured him of his commitment in ensuring that the standard is maintained.
Also speaking, the Special Guest of Honour and Director, Cabinet Office Rivers State, Mr Hamilton Amadi lauded the proprietor for his commitment towards the promotion of  education in Obio/Akpor communities.
He stressed that the singular effort of the proprietor has led to the educational rejuvenation among the people of the area and urged parents to make use of the opportunity to improve on the educational potentials of their children and wards.
Earlier in his welcome address, the proprietor of the school, Mr Vincent Ichella, said that the vision of the school is to bring up functional citizens of the global world through knowledge which is their stock in trade, to  provide the most outstanding citadel of learning and to provide quality and affordable education, while the mission is providing excellent academic service using competent and dedicated management and staff as well as to provide quality and affordable education to all and sundry.
According to him, the motto of the school which is “Catch the World with Knowledge” is the driving force that has led to the achievement of academic excellence within the 10 years of its existence. We disclosed that the school was started with N12,000 (Twelve thousand) and one classroom block, but today  it boast of modern structures well equipped science laboratories, and other facilities that provide conducive environment for teaching work the school  also engages in extra curricular activities such as sports, cultural dances, drama and choreography among others in order to equip the students academically, physically and morally.
He appealed to the state government and private organisations to partner with the school in a bid to surmount their financial challenges.
The high points of the event merit awards to deserving recipients among whom were.
Rivers State Government for Work, Engr. K. K. Nwachukwu, Sir (Hon) Michael Okechukwu Chinda, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, Pastor Kingsley Wordu, Elder Linus Ibekwe, Prince Hulikins Daniel and Innocent Wordu among others.
