Ekiti FA To Float Football Academy

tion (EKFA) is set to float a standard academy, according to the FA Chairman, Desmond Alabi.
He told the Tidesports source in the Ekiti capital on Monday that the academy would be for U-13, U-15 and U-16 football.
Alabi said the objective was to build and promote a formidable football teams in the state.
He also hoped that the academy, when established, would help discover talents particularly at the grassroots.
“As I promised the football fans in Ekiti that the association will increase the performance of our boys in football competitions, we are committed to fulfilling that.
“One of the ways to achieve this is by establishing a standard academy,’’ he said.
Alabi said arrangements were at an advanced stage as some talented youths in U-13 and U-15 had been discovered in different communities.
The FA chairman said coaches in the 16 local government areas had been instructed to scout for talented footballers in the categories.
“The football academy will be inaugurated this year and will be mainly Ekiti youths because I want the state to develop in football.’’
