The Commandant-
General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana, has expressed satisfaction at the performance of the corps personnel in the just-concluded Bayelsa State governorship supplementary election.
This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Emmanuel Okeh, the corps’ Public Relations Officer in Abuja.
Gana, the statement said, also commended INEC, the Police and other security agencies for a job well done.
He said that though there were some skirmishes during the election, the overall performance was highly commendable.
“I really appreciate the efforts of my personnel, INEC, the Police and other security agencies who worked together to make the Bayelsa governorship supplementary election a huge success.
“I trust that this synergy exhibited will continue to enable us actualise our collective aim in having a much secure society,’’ the CG said.
He called on the corps personnel to redouble their efforts, adding that even though they had begun well in the New Year, there were still more hurdles to cross.
The NSCDC boss also charged them to shun corruption and remain focused, stressing that the welfare of the officers and men of the corps remained his primary concern.
