Rivers NCSU Inaugurates Women Executives

Service Union (NCSU), Rivers State council, has inaugurated a new executive of its Women Committee to pilot the affairs of its women wing in the next four years.
While inaugurating the executives of the Women Committee of the union at the NCSU’s secretariat in Port Harcourt, yesterday, the State  Secretary of the union, Comrade Dan Otakpo charged them to always carry along all women of the union and to remain loyal to the leadership of the union in the state at all times.
Comrade Otakpo noted with delight that a new executive had been elected to fill the vacuum which had existed within the State Administrative Committee of the union, stressing that NCSU in the State was always gender sensitive.
Addressing the union members during the inauguration ceremony, the Rivers State Chairman of NCSU, Comrade O.T. Lilly-West expressed happiness that the women committee of the union had finally come on stream, and advised the executives of the committee to always live up to their responsibilities and to guard against anything that would plunge the union into crisis.
He further noted that the emergence of the women committee  executives was the beginning of a new dawn in the state council, and commended the Governor Nyesom Wike administration for regular payment of salaries of civil servants in the state.
While also lauding the governor for the massive execution of infrastructural projects across the state, Lilly-West expressed optimism that the state government would do the needful to ensure that workers celebrate the Christmas festivities with smiles on their faces.
He, however, enjoined civil servants to shun partisan politics, even as he urged them to remain firm, resolute and dedicated to their duties at all times.
In her acceptance speech, the Chairperson of the Women Committee of the union, Comrade Florence Bobmanuel thanked the union members for their support, and assured that the executives of the committee would justify the confidence reposed in them.
She also promised to carry along all members of the union, particularly the women, and described the successful inauguration of the women committee as the beginning of a new dawn.
The members of the executive committee of the women wing of the union include Comrade (Mrs) Florence Bobmanuel, chairperson, Comrade (Mrs Joy Oguigba, vice chairperson, Comrade Leticia Mac-Pepple, secretary and Comrade Gladys Daniel Jack, assistant secretary.
Others are Comrade Mercy Ewoh, ex-officio member, Comrade Soba Pepple, ex-officio member and Comrade Roseline Akiniwo, ex-officio member.
