Ogu Set To Hold Unity Football Competition

All is now set for the
Kick-off of the maiden edition of Ogu Unity Football Cup Tournament scheduled to hold next week.
A statement signed by the host, Mina Igoboye and the organising Secretary, Francis Alli-Alamina said the competition, which will take place at Ogu Township Stadium is aimed to promote peace and unity in the Kingdom.
The statement also said the volunteers are sponsoring the tournament to organise the competition in a safe environment, bring the youths closer through common interest of sportsmanship, instill discipline, education and acquaint the players with the fundamental rules of the game and also to discover talents that could represent the community and the state in future competitions.
According to the statement, the competition will also encourage youths to maintain satisfactory grades in school and emphasise the importance of keeping close relationship between education and sports.
