NTF To Host Age Grade Tennis Championships

The Nigeria Tennis Federa
tion (NTF) has said that the country will host three age-group tennis championships in 2016, beginning January.
The President of the federation, Sani Ndanusa, told newsmen in Lagos that the three age-groups include U-16, U-14, and U-12.
Ndanusa said that both male and female juniors from 15 West and Central African countries would compete for trophies at the championships beginning January 9.
“To start with 2016, we have the juniors; we are hosting the U-16, U-14, U-12 junior female and male in Abuja, from the 9th of January and that is going to be the opener for the year.
“We are having players from about 15 countries of West and Central Africa for this tournament.
“There is a qualifier for the men AJC, coming up in South Africa.
“So, we look forward to qualifying most of our players for that final tournament; from there, on and on and on and on I must say.
“We had a very big 2015, but we will make 2016 even bigger, because most of our sponsors have agreed to expand, do more, and add value.’’
The president of NTF further said that though the federation had been associated with a number of sponsors, it would strive to sustain its relationship with existing sponsors in the execution of its programmes.
“We are going to consolidate on the existing sponsors; that is important.
“It is good to get new sponsors, but I also want to hold on to the ones we have.
“They are very valuable, and their capacity is very high.’’
