Egwi Community Accuses Woman Of Beheading Husband’s Brother
A primary school teacher
in Egwi, Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, (name withheld) has been accused of beheading her husband’s brother over what she alleged as an undue interference with her private life.
An eyewitness who spoke with The Tide in Egwi at the weekend, said the woman’s brother-in-law was found dead in his residence in mysterious circumstances as his head was severved from his lifeless body while none of the body parts was bleeding.
He said the community which was pained by the death of their respected brother in a gruesome manner decided to unearth the cause of the death.
The eyewitness said the community decided to invite a native doctor to determine the cause of the man’s death.
He said according to their custom, the community brought ‘lather’ noted for the exactitude of his divination who revealed that the suspected assassin had been irked by the alleged warning from the husband’s brother that her open adulterous life was a disgrace and disrespect to his family.
The eyewitness further disclosed that the fallowing the divination by the native doctor, the houses of the woman’s husband, the lady’s shop and the home of the adulterous men had been destroyed.
He explained that both the adulterous woman and man had gone into hiding as the community was hunting for them.
On why the community had to destroy the houses of the alleged adulterous woman’s husband, the witness explained that it was because the man could not control his wife.
The witness explained that the community was seeking ways and means to bring the fleeing culprits to book.
