Deputy Governor Presents Christmas Gifts To Widows
Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, has presented food items worth thousands of naira to some widows in Port Harcourt.
Dr. Banigo who made the presentation on Monday at Government House, Port Harcourt, said the gift items were presented in the spirit of the season.
The Deputy Governor who was represented by her Senior Special Assistant, General, Mrs. Ine Gogo Fubara said Christmas is a season of love and goodwill to others particularly the less privileged in society.
Presenting the items which include bags of rice and cartons of groundnut oil, she promised that the present administration would continue to improve the welfare of widows in the State while urging them to be faithful and engage themselves in productive ventures.
“You are not left alone in your plights. The essence of the items, no matter how little, is to show love and goodwill to the less privileged, especially the widows in the spirit of Christmas.” she stated.
Dr. Banigo thanked them for their support and continuous prayers for her and the Wike-led administration, adding that the gesture was to reassure them that they are not forgotten.
Responding on behalf of the widows, the woman leader, Rumuibekwe Housing Estate, Mrs. Asuievie Tayo Osu, thanked the Deputy Governor for her kind gesture while promising that members of Rumuibekwe Housing Estate would continue to support her and the State Government to actualise their vision for the State.
