A clergyman, Pastor
Chukwudi Abana, has urged Christians to cultivate the culture of thanksgiving, as it remained the surest way to receive from God’s bountiful blessings.
Abana, Senior Pastor of Dominion City Church in Ebonyi, stated this last Sunday in Abakaliki, during an annual Thanksgiving Church Service of Dominion City Church, Kpiri-Kpiri.
The cleric, who stressed the importance of thanksgiving, described it as an attitude and emphasised that a thanksgiving heart was a grateful heart.
He noted that people missed out in their blessings, because of lack of gratitude to God for what He had done in their lives.
Quoting biblical verses, the cleric urged Christians to always cultivate thanksgiving hearts and also remain faithful to God.
“The surest way to receiving from God is by showing appreciation to Him over the things He has done and those He has not done that He will do.
“A thanksgiving heart is a grateful heart and as Christians we should learn to be thankful and be grateful to God,” Abana said.
The senior pastor noted that many had lost the blessings of God for lack of thankfulness, adding that when one appreciates God for what He did, He would multiply one’s blessings.
Narrating the story of the 10 healed leprous men in the Bible, where only one came back to thank Jesus, he said that thanksgiving was key to sustaining the blessings of God.
The church’s auditorium was filled to capacity as members danced and presented their thanksgiving offerings at the altar in appreciation for God’s benevolence.
