Abia Ex-Office Holders Endorse Kalu
Special Advisers to Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, taking oath of office in Owerri on Monday
Former political office-
holders in Abia Sate during the tenure of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu have assured him of their support ahead Ike to re-run senatorial election for Abia North.
They gave him the assurance when they visited him in his Igbere home under the auspices of Abia Political Forum (APF).
The interim chairman of APF and former Commissioner for Finance, Jones Udeozu said they were confident in the ability of the senatorial candidate of Progressive Peoples’ Alliance (PPA) to give quality and responsive representation to Abia North.
The APF chairman acknowledged the large number of people-oriented projects and programmes initiated and executed by the former governor, adding that his free education policy afforded the less privileged the opportunity to send their children to school for free.
“Even though we had expected the Appeal Court to declare Kalu winner of the poll, we are still optimistic that he will emerge victorious at the fresh poll.
He is a household name beyond political circles. Kalu has the capacity in terms of public sector experience and network of contacts to drive robust legislative programme not only for Abia North but for South-East in general.
Responding, Dr. Orji Kalu thanked members of the group for their show of love and support, adding that his desire to represent Abia North was borne out of the disconnect between the people and their earlier representatives.
According to him, the people of Abia North deserve a decent life, but this can only be achieved through a strong representation.
