A philanthropist in Ikembara Autonomous Community in Ikeduru Local Government of Imo State, Sir Emeka Nwosuji, has described this year’s New Yam Festival of Umudim/Umuonyeukwu-Ikeduru as a new year of unity for his people.
He made this known at the new yam festival that attracted ‘who is who’ in Ikeduru political, educational and religious circles.
Nwosuji, who is the Government Liaison Officer (GLO) of Ikembara Autonomous Community and a lecturer at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, remarked that the New Yam Festival would strengthen the Ikeduru existing unity which would in turn encourage growth and development.
Nwosuji used the avenue to inform journalists about some of his philanthropic contributions to his people which included payment of school fees for Ikeduru indigene children, sponsorship of 2012 Ikeduru schools’ quiz and contribution to the building of Saint Michael’s Catholic Church and Saint Philip’s Anglican Church.
