FIDA Set To Host NEC, AGM In Rivers
The Rivers State branch of the Federation of International Women Lawyers (FIDA), has won the right to host both the 2015 National Executive Council (NEC) and the 2015 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the body.
The state chairperson of FIDA, Barrister Florence Itamunoala, disclosed this when she led the state executive members of FIDA on a courtesy call on the acting state Chief Judge, Justice Daisy W. Okocha in her office in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
Barrister Itamunoala told the acting Chief Judge that the ceremony was scheduled to hold between 15 and 18th of November, 2015, adding that female lawyers across the country would gather during the period in the state for the meeting.
She stated that the essence of the visit was to intimate her as the Chief Judiciary Officer in the state of the forthcoming programmes and solicited the assistance of the Chief Judge to enable them host the meeting.
She further used the opportunity to request for the approval of the Chief Judge to release the judiciary conference hall for the programmes, adding that the choice of the venue was because of its secured nature.
The srate FIDA chairperson also used the visit to officially invite the acting Chief Judge to attend the programme as the patron of the body in the state.
In her response, the acting Chief Judge of the State, Justice Daisy Okocha, thanked them for the visit and approved the use of the judiciary auditorium as requested by FIDA for the programme, even as she promised to attend the event.
