The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo has called on the Rivers State Police Command to thoroughly investigate the assassination attempt on the life of the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Nyesom Wike, Sir Opunabo  Inko-Tariah, along Isreal-Ama bridge, Buguma in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of the state last Thursday.
Banigo, who spoke through her Press Secretary, Paul Damgbor, wondered why the gunmen would go after the life of an innocent man who has always conducted himself in the best moral and professional demeanour.
She described Inko-Tariah as a devoted Christian, public crusader, astute lawyer and a renowned journalist whose interest in the overall development of the state is well known.
The deputy governor advised political opponents to sheath their swords and join the governor in rebuilding a new Rivers State for the interest of the people.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo said the decision of Governor Wike to organize a thanksgiving service in Port Harcourt despite the strange judgment of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, was not only to seek the face of God but a demonstration of the absolute faith the present administration has in God as the final arbiter in human affairs.
Banigo maintained that Wike was committed in the task of delivering democratic dividends to the people, and expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, Christian Community and supporters for turning out en-masse to show solidarity to the Wike-led government.
