We’ll Place Rivers People First -Wike
The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has promised to utilize state funds in the development of the state and not to sponsor people outside.
Speaking at the State Banquet to mark his administration’s 100 days in office held in Government House on Monday, Wike said state funds will be used solely to develop the state.
Wike observed that the government is buoyed by the happiness and support it enjoys from the people, and emphasised the quest by his administration to work for the entire welfare of Rivers people .
Reaffirming his promise to focus on development, he said the days of wastage are over, “what is important to us is that the people of Rivers State are happy. The moment our people are happy then we can go home and sleep.”
Reacting to the various criticisms against the government, the governor said the administration will continue to harbour constructive criticism, while imploring the people to always pray for the success of the administration.
In his remarks, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ikuinyi Owaji-Ibani described Wike’s success at the polls as divine.

“From what has happened in River State and from what is happening now,lam encouraged to support the governor. I am happy with what he is doing in old Port Harcourt Township.”
He urged the governor to sustain the tempo as the traditional institution and the citizenry are behind him.
National Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, described Wike’s 100 days as a threshold in the history of the state.
