The new Rivers State
Commissioner of Police, CP Hyelasinda Musa Kimo, has declared criminals in the state as “personae non grata” and vowed to deal with them.
CP Musa Kimo stated this during his maiden press briefing to mark his official resumption as the new state police boss held at the Officers Mess in Port Harcourt, Monday.
He averred the declaration of non personae non grata on criminals in the state was to serve as a  serious warning to them to either abandon their criminal activities or leave the state for it would not be business as usual, noting that he observed that unscrupulous criminal robbers are constantly on the prowl.
The state police helmsman used the opportunity to read out six points of his administration focus  which include community policing, visibility policing, intelligence led policing, war against cultism and violent crimes and massive deployment of personnel, adding that the police would draw centrifugal forces together to rout the criminals out of the state.
He promised to maintain the mission of the police force which, according to him, is to make the country safer and more secured for everyone living in the country. Commissioner Musa Kimo averred that with the police existing crime prevention and detection strategies he was optimistic that crime wave in the state would further reduce drastically, adding that the police would collaborate with the chief security officer of the state as well as synergise with other security agencies with the intention of ensuring safety and security of the state.
He used the opportunity to direct all police personnel to fully adhere to the people’s friendly police that would respect and uphold the fundamental rights of all citizens in accordance with the will and policing directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase, even as he assured members of the public that police would live up to their constitutional obligations in the state.
