LG Boss Promises To Assist Fishermen

taker Committee of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr Isaac Ibiberebupakabo, says the council would partner with fishermen in the area by providing the necessary fishing gears to boost fish production in the area.
The local government boss who made the promise recently when members of the Action Fishermen Association (AFA) paid him a courtesy visit called on the members to go about their occupation through legitimate means.
He thanked them for their peaceful conduct in the discharge of their fishing activities even as he promised council’s readiness in assisting them in whatever challenges they had with INTELS and the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in the area.
The council boss called on the members to take the business of fishing in the area seriously to enable them provide the fish needs of the people of the area and beyond.
Ibiberebupakabo who reminded them that he was also a fisherman said despite his brief tenure, he assured of delivering the gains of democracy to the area.     Earlier, the chairman of the Ogu/Bolo Action Fishermen  Association, Comrade Dike Tamuno had congratulated the council boss on his appointment.
Tamuno expressed optimism that the past records of the CTC boss was a testimony that he would make a difference among other chairmen in the state.
One of the highlights of the visit was the confirmation of the CTC chairman as patron of the fishing association.
