Super Falcons’ coach Christopher Danujma has assured that his team was working hard to ensure they emerged the best at the end of the All-Africa Games (AAG).
Danjuma told newsmen that he and his players were well aware of the need to be the best at any competition.
“The reason for any team to go to a competition is to become the best, which is our mission and our hard work in these past weeks is to be the best,’’ he said.
The Falcons in Abuja beat Tin City Queens of Jos 13-0 in a friendly match to prepare for the upcoming AAG.
The match was played at the FIFA Goal Project pitch at the Abuja National Stadium.
Danjuma said the match was very important to the team in view of their target.
“It has its purpose to fulfill, because there’s something you want to see, which you have built as a strategy and you need to see if it works or not.
“Today, it’s a strategy that we have applied and it has worked for us, and we now have to go on to prove to Africa that we are the best.
“Therefore, this match will help us particularly in achieving our first aim at the competition, which is that of winning our first match.
“You will want to win the first match in your group, and I think our first match should be a win in order to have the balance in the group stage,’’ he said.
Our correspondent reports that the Super Falcons are in Group A at the 11th edition of the AAG in Brazzaville, Congo.
The group consist of Nigeria, Tanzania, Cote’ D’Ivoire and host country Congo.
