Ex-CP Presents Scorecard …Rates Officers High

Commissioner of Police, CP Chris Ezike, has eulogised the performance of the police personnel in the state police command for their gallant    services and cooperation put in place during the two months of his administration in the state.
The former state commissioner of police made the commendation while given account of stewardship of his two months in office as the commissioner of police during a valedictory press briefing had at the  police headquarters, Moscow Road, in Port Harcourt, recently.
CP Ezike, who recalled that in his inaugural address on the 2nd of July, 2015, he identified kidnapping, robbery and cultism as the major headache of the command which was compounded by traffic gridlock, adding that together with the management team, DPOs and tactical commanders persecuted to the declaration of a one month emergency on crime fighting in the state.
He averred that the police during the period among other things increased visibility within the state, say no to idleness, malingering and poor attitude to crime fighting, review personnel deployment profile as well as confront violent crimes/criminals with renewed commitment, active community engagement/partnership robust, courageous attitude and remain accountable to the people.
He opined that the period yielded much harvest in the area of crime fighting and added that Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase extended the emergency operation by one month during his visit to the state which was aimed at stemming the tide and reversing the criminal trend in the state.
“Iam humbled by the desired out come at the operation. We have re-awakened the services delivery zeal, orientation and of our work force to meet up with the challenges of their expected duties, responsibilities and functions, we have added greater impetus to crime-fighting with robust , more coordinated, intelligence driven strategy and the result is good and amazing,” he stated.
The out-gone state police boss used the opportunity to commend the state governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, for the support given to the command which aided it to effectively perform as well as the media and the good people of the state and urged them to extend such for the successor, CP Hyelasinda  Musa Kimo to enable him succeed.
