The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has promised to complete all the projects abandoned by the previous administration.
Wike made the promise yesterday  in Government House, Port Harcourt, when the Archbishop of the Niger Delta Province, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Ignatius Kattey paid him a courtesy call.
The governor told the Archbishop that with the help of God, he will complete all abandoned Federal or state projects that have positive and direct impact on the lives of the people and the economy of the state.
The governor cited projects like the Abuloma – Woji road, Woji – Akpajo road and the Rumueprikom – Rumuolumeni road as  projects started by the  last administration but abandoned, and  have now been earmarked for completion by his government because of their importance to the economy.
His words: “we cannot just abandon a project and fold our arms because we did not award it in the first place. If we do that, we will all lose; the entire people of Rivers State will lose.”
On the issue of security, Wike remarked thus:. “We can provide all the logistic support to our security agencies but without prayers to the Almighty God, nobody is safe”.
He also assured the bishop that his administration will not be distracted by criticisms, noting that they are inevitable and also help to keep leaders on their toes.
Speaking earlier, Most Reverend Ignatius Kattey, congratulated Wike on his victory at the polls, and urged him to be tolerant and embrace God more firmly.
Kattey commended Wike’s achievements at easing traffic congestion through road repairs and the fighting of crime and criminality in the state.
He assured the governor that he will continue to pray for him.
“We want to assure you that you are not alone in this battle. We are solidly behind you and pledge our unflinching support. We shall continue to pray for you and your team”, Bishop kattey pledged.
