The Tide NUJ Lauds Wike Over Member’s Appointment

The Nigeria Union of Jour
nalists (NUJ), The Tide Chapel, has expressed appreciation to the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, for appointing one of their members, Bar. Philip Okparaji, as the Chairman, Caretaker Committee for Eleme Local Government Council of the State.
In a statement signed by the Secretary, Akujobi Amadi and the Chairman, Felix Okogbule, the union described the action of the state governor as worthy of commendation, and underscores his government’s respect to the journalism profession.
The statement, while congratulating Okparaji on his appointment, described it as a true manifestation of his hard work, anchored on personal commitment, loyalty and contributions toward the development of Eleme local government area.
The statement further added that the appointment has brought honour and pride to The Tide NUJ family, and indeed, the entire journalists in the state.
The union urged the Eleme CTC boss to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new assignment in other to put smile on the faces of the Eleme people by ensuring that the dividends of democracy are given to the people, irrespective of their political affiliations.
The union, however, prayed the Almighty God to grant wisdom and protections to the CTC Chairman to enable him succeed in his new mandate.
