Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Rivers State Chapter, Chief Chris Okonkwo has expressed confidence in the recently appointed Head Coach of the Nigeria Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh.
Chief Okonkwo made this expression in an interview with The Tidesports in his office in Port Harcourt this week.
According to him, with the Oliseh’s pedigree, there is every optimism that he would take the team to greater heights if given a free hand to operate.
He said the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) should not treat Oliseh the way they treated his predecessor, Coach Stephen Keshi. He added that there should be a united house for Nigeria football to move forward.
Okonkwo hinted that there is possibility that Nigeria will move from its current position in World Football ranking to greater height, as he hoped that in 2018 World Cup, the Super Eagles might reach Semi-finals in the game.
On the sack of Stephen Keshi, the Sports Philanthropist lamented the development, believing that there was not concrete evidence for NFF’s action.
“Let them prove his culpability beyond reasonable doubt describing his sack as a disgrace to Nigeria.
