Rivers Marks Public Service Day, ’Morrow

All is now set for the celebration of this year’s  Public Service Day in Rivers State with the theme, “Role of Public Service In Women Empowerment, Innovation And Accessible Service Delivery.”
A statement signed by the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee of the Civil Service Day Celebration, Dr George Nwaeke states that the event would take place on tomorrow September 1, 2015 at the main bowl of the Alfred Diete Spiff Civic Centre, Moscow Road,  Port Harcourt.
It  invites all civil servants and friends of the State to attend as Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour, while the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Chief Oris Onyiri will be the chairman of the day.
Dr Nwaeke who is also Permanent Secretary in the office of the Deputy Governor said that one day event would feature special lectures, entertainment and interactive session with the State Government on issues affecting the civil service, while  Prof Roseline Konya shall  deliver the keynote lecture with the title: “Role of Public Service in Women Empowerment, Innovation And Accessible Service Delivery.”
The Tide learnt that for the first time, awards would be presented to the Most Outstanding Woman in Public Service, the best performing Ministry and the most outstanding junior staff of the year.
