Rivers Kick-Boxers Impress At South-East Championships

tive of the World Kick Boxing Association (W.K.A) Sensei Victor Bassey, has lauded the performance of the Rivers State kick boxers at the recently concluded South-East National kickboxing Championship held in Owerri, Imo State.
Sensei bassey, made the commendation in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
According to him, the athletes who represented the state performed impressively, noting that, should they be given the needed support and encouragement they will go places.
“If the desired support and encouragement is given to these athletes they will excel in their chosen sport and as well do the state proud”, he said.
Meanwhile, the state won two gold, one silver and a bronze medal at the competition.
Kick boxers that won medals include Godwill lebera, one gold in 60kg category and Emmanuel Namani who also, won one gold in the 75 kg class.
Others are victor Johnson, who carted home a silver in the -71 kg class while John Trust baged a bronze in the -75kg class respectively.
