The police
yesterday arraigned one Anthony Chibike, 38, in an Enugu Magistrates’ Court on a two-count charge of conspiracy and robbery.
The suspect was accused of conspiracy and robbing one Bernard Chukwu.
The prosecutor, Insp. Peace Opara, said that the matter was reported on July 30 at the Central Police Station, Enugu by the complainant.
Opara said that the accused conspired with two others, now at large and robbed Chukwuma of his vehicle and a Techno cell phone, using a locally made pistol.
According to Opara, all the stolen items from Chukwuma are worth over N6million.
The accused did not take any plea while the Magistrate, Mrs Ifeoma Oruruo, transferred the case file to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution and adjourned the matter indefinitely.
She also asked the accused to get a lawyer to defend him at the high court.
The accused had told the court that he had no lawyer, and no one to help him get a counsel.
