The Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) in Rivers State has challenged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, Dr Dakuku Peterside, to disclose names of the PDP’s chieftains he claimed would soon defect to APC in one month time.
The Assistant Secretary of the PDP in the State, Mr Samuel Nwonozike who reacted to Peterside’s claim, on Wendesday said the APC candidate in the last governorship election in the State was just deluding himself in order to gain cheap popularity for himself and his party.
Peterside had, in a meeting of APC stakeholders  in Rivers South-East Senatorial District at Bori, claimed that some members of PDP including some members of caretaker committees of the 23 Local Government Areas of the State were approaching APC leaders for defection.
The PDP described Peterside’s claims as cheap propangada to console his supporters in APC, saying that APC was already dead in the State.
The PDP assured that none of its members was preparing to leave the party for APC, and advised Dr Peterside to desist from fruitless efforts and  join hands with Governor Nyesom Wike to develop the State.
Mr Nwonozike laso dismissed APC’s speculation that the judgment of the State Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja would favour APC.
He said, election in Rivers State was a true reflection of democracy as the people of the State voted massively to elect the governor of their choice.\
He challenged the APC to show facts that there was no election in the State.
