NFF Dissolves Anambra Normalisation Committee
The Nigeria Football Fed
eration (NFF) last week dissolved the Normalisation Committee appointed to resolve the election crisis in the Anambra State Football Association.
This is contained in a letter addressed to the chairman of the Normalisation Committee and signed by Tunde Aderibigbe, on behalf of the General Secretary.
The letter said the NFF made it clear that a request for extension sought by the Committee was untenable.
The letter followed intractable problems that bedeviled the Football Association’s planned elections.
“I have been directed to inform you that your request for tenure extension which is the second in one month has been rejected by the Federation.
“While the Normalisation Committee under your leadership has been dissolved with immediate effect for not being able to complete the mandate given to your committee as at when due,” the letter read in part.
It added that NFF had in April set up a five-man Normalisation Committee in place of the Board of Anambra State Football Association, which tenure ended on February 28.
The Committee, with had Mr Clifford Okoye as chairman, and with Mr Okey Abazu, Chike Ononye, Uzo Epudu and Patrick Okafor as members.
It said that the committee was inaugurated on 10 April by the NFF States Elections Monitoring Committee.
