Women basketballers in action contesting for victory in a match
The Nigeria Cricket Fed
eration (NCF) has appointed two coaches, Musa Cyril and Tony Ajaelu to take charge of the National female team for an Invitational Tournament in Tanzania.
A statement released by the NCF last week said the appointment was a step in the right direction for the country’s participation in the tournament currently going on. It said that Cyril would be in charge of the team and would be assisted by Ajaelu.
The statement added that the coaches possessed the qualities needed to handle the team, because of their profile and contribution to the sport.
It said the coaches had served in various capacities which necessitated their being appointed for the task ahead.
In a related development, the body said it has selected 15 players for the tournament after two weeks camping held to prepare the team for the event. According to NCF the team departed the country on August 16.
It said the counties to participating at the event are Nigeria, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.
