Rangers coach Imama
Amapakabo has insisted the 3-2 loss at home to FC IfeanyiUbah will not affect his team’s chances in a Federation Cup semi-final against Lobi Stars today.
The Tidesports gathered that  players were complacent and this led to the home loss, but they have learnt their lessons which they are taking into the Federation Cup in Katsina on Wednesday.
“We lost to complacency and we have learnt a lot of lessons from that very game,” said the coach.
“It is a big loss but it will in no way affect us in the Federation Cup against Lobi Stars today in Katsina.
“We are focused at reaching the final of this year’s Federation Cup and even ending the over three decades of trophy drought in the team.”
Amapakabo stated further, “Rangers lost the game due to complacency as my players decided to listen to the crowd rather than the technical bench and this worked against us.”
Two late goals in the 88th and 90th minutes of the highly entertaining encounter earned the Nnewi side a win they greatly needed after the hosts had rallied back through Odah Onoriode and Godwin Aguda on 60 and 62 minutes to cancel out Stephen Chukwude’s 41st minute opening goal.
With this loss, Rangers slipped to the 12th position on the table, while FC IfeanyiUbah climb to the 10th place with both sides chalking up 32 points apiece.
