Bayelsa Utd Draws Inspiration From Away Point
The coach of Bayelsa
United Football Club of Yenagoa, Richard Bubagha, has said his players deserve commendation for securing a point against hosts FC Taraba of Jalingo last week.
Both sides drew goalless in their week 24 fixture in the 2014/2015 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The draw kept them in the 19th spot on the table with 22 points, same with Sharks FC of Port Harcourt, their week 25 opponents.
Bubagha said the draw against FC Taraba would boost the confidence of the players ahead of upcoming match.
He said the financial motivation from their owners, the Bayelsa State Government, would also enable them to win games.
“The draw in Jalingo is a morale-booster for the team to step up its game. We will ensure we go all out to win our next game against Sharks.
“It is not an easy task securing an away point, but we are strategising already to get things better for our next encounter.
“The lapses noticed in Jalingo will be corrected when we meet Sharks. We met them in Port Harcourt in the first stanza of the league and it ended in a draw.
“So, this time around, we will ensure we beat them to improve on our latest position on the log,’’ Bubagha said.
He pointed out that Bayelsa United was now condemned to winning its remaining matches of the season in spite of playing its home matches in Oghara, Delta.
The coach said the state government was doing everything possible to ensure that the team returned to its base in Yenagoa.
