The former Governor of
Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Ameachi, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) will pursue its election petitions against the winner of the April 11, governorship election in the state, Governor Nyesom Wike, to the Supreme Court, even if its candidate, Dakuku Peterside became tired and decides to abandon the case.
Amaechi stated this last Saturday, while addressing APC Supporters in Port Harcourt.
The former governor alleged that, the Justice George Ornereti Probe Panel set-up by Governor Wike to investigate  his administration was meant to put pressure on APC to withdraw its case at the election petition tribunal in Abuja.
“The reason why Wike set-up a probe panel to investigate my administration was to put pressure on APC to withdraw the case at the election petition tribunal.
“He wants to put pressure on us to withdraw from court, even if Dakuku Peterside decides tomorrow to withdraw from the case, APC will not withdraw.
There is no independent candidancy Amaechi said.
Amaechi vowed not to appear before the Justice Omereji led probe panel, saying the panel was not properly constituted in accordance with the law and would not be fair to his government.
He said, the panel was illegally constituted to pronounce him guilty even if nothing was found wrong in his administration.
