APC Chieftain Reassures On Mass Defection From PDP
The Chairman of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Chief Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, has again reassured that, there will soon be a mass defection of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to APC in the state.
Chief Ikanya, who disclosed this in a meeting with some party’s stakeholders in Port Harcourt, said the party has received what he described a defection green light” from some angry members of the PDP, especially those he said were not comfortable with the style of Governor Nyesom Wike administration in the state.
According to the APC Chieftain, the recent mass exodus of PDP bigwigs to the party in Bayelsa State, will be insignificant compared to what will happen in Rivers State soonest.
Chief Ikanya called on the party leaders of various local government areas to open the party doors for anybody who wants to join the opposition party in the state.
The State APC boss also advised the party’s leaders to beware of corrupt politicians among intending decampees saying that, some of them are coming to stain the party with their corrupt tendencies of their former parties.
In another development, youths in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State have commended the former Senator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District, Senator Magnus Abe for linking over ten communities in the area to national grid as his constituency project in the area.
Speaking with The Tide, the spokesmen of the youth, Hon. Mkpon Amon Ijon-Ama said, the people of Andoni, especially the Abakasak and Ibot-Irem axis of the area would not forget the former Senator for his development gesture, noting that the Senator has made the communities in Isiokwan District in Andoni LGA to be linked to businesses through the electrification.
The youth spokesman lauded Senator Abe for completing the electrification project even after leaving office as Senator, and called on other political office holders in the state to take acue from the former Senator.
