Morocco’s Moghreb
Tetouan will look to revive their CAF Champions League Group A campaign when they host TP Mazembe at the Saniat Rmel Stadium on Sunday.
Moghreb Tetouan began the group phase with a disappointing 3-2 loss away to Egyptian rookies Smouah in Alexandria last month.
The Moroccans were 2-0 up early on thanks to strikes from Mourtada Fall and Ahmed Jahouh, but they conceded three goals in the last quarter of the match to blow the chance of a precious away win.
Spanish coach Sergio Lobera will hope to see his team put in a more disciplined performance on home soil, especially defensively, as they look to bounce back in what is their first group stage participation.
DR Congo giants TP Mazembe also recorded a disappointing result in their group opener, as they were held to a goalless draw by Al Hilal in their fortress in Lubumbashi.
Coach Patrice Carteron was disappointed by his team’s lack of execution on home soil, and will expect an improvement on the road.
“We lacked concentration, we missed simple things,” the Frenchman said after the 0-0 draw with Hilal.
He added, “We are all at fault… we will need to take points away from home to win this group.”
