According to the organizers, the tournament involving U-15’s and U17’s will hold on July 25th and 26th and August 1st and 2nd , respectively.
Head Coach of the Rivers State Cricket Association, Tonye Timinadi, who disclosed this in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt, recently said that the competition would be used to select players to represent the south-south zones in the national event.
Players are expected to be picked randomly from the states within the region, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa-Ibom and Cross Rivers State to represent the zone.
Meanwhile, other zones are also expected to select players to form their zonal teams for the tournament scheduled to hold across the six geo-political zones in the country.
The State Cricket Coach urged his team to be committed to their training and endeavour to exhibit discipline in all their dealings, saying that, the tournament would afford them opportunities to improve themselves.
The team is also preparing for the annual cricket championship tagged T. 20, coming later in August, this year.
