RVHA Approves LG, SHA Commissions’ Nominees

Barely twenty four hours
after the approval by the Rivers State House of Assembly for the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike to dissolve the Local Government Service Commission and Assembly Commission, the Assembly last Friday screened and approved new members for the two commissions.
The Speaker, Rt Hon Ikunyi Ibani at the sitting on Friday said that the house approved the nominees of the Local Government Service Commissioner and Assembly Commission following the request from the governor of Rivers State.
The speaker said the request was approved to enable the nominees to expedite action in serving the people.
According to him, the nominees for the House of Assembly Commission were approved to ensure smooth service of the legislative arm of government.
He urged members of the commissions to work for the interest of the people of the state and country.
“You should work according to the rules of the commissions and not for selfish interests to enable them give quality services to the people”, he said.
Those screened for the Local Government Service Commission include, Chief Azubuike Nmerukini, Chief Grey Nwidam, Mr Steph Maduenyi, Pleasant Braide, Theophanous Owhor, Obrandu Ohochukwu and Miss Blessing Ejii, while those Screened for House of Assembly Commission were Chidi Amadi, Arthur Uchendu, Paul Ayagwang Luila Steward and Charity Demua.
