RSG To Partner France On Econ Dev

The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has sued for partnership between France and Rivers State in furtherance of the Rivers New Vision.
Making the call during the 2015 French National Day in Port Harcourt, at the weekend, Wike said France needs to establish a visa centre to increase its economic presence in the state.
He observed that Rivers State has enjoyed robust relationship with France, saying that, “Here in Rivers State before now, we have always had good relationship with France, and as a governor,
that relationship will continue.”
The governor promised that the present administration is poised to provide conducive environment for investors to do business in the state, while assuring that security will be given
top priority.
In Wike’s words: “In the next few weeks, you will notice a change in security, and we believe that some of the investors will have rethink and come back.”
He used the celebrations to thank all the multinationals, especially Intels, Indorama and others who have agreed to assist government to rehabilitate the EastIW est Road axis from Eleme to
Onne area to boost economic activities.
He thanked France for its support for Nigeria to fight terrorism, pointing out that the issue has become a global menace which every country must fight to eradicate.
Congratulating France on its national day, Wike assured the French community a friendly environment in the state.
Earlier, Honorary French Consul, Nicholas Brunet, said the celebrations evokes fraternity with other countries, while promising of better relationship between France and other countries.
He pledged his country’s commitment to assist Nigeria in its quest to become a great nation.
The same pledge was re-echoed French Ambassador to Nigeria, Marcel Escure, who promised his country’s support to fight terrorism and global warming.
