Rivers Angels Football
Club of Port Harcourt has promised to secure victory when it confronts its opponents, Taraba Queens in Jailingo, as the Nigeria Women’s Football Premier League resumes this weekend.
Assistant Coach of the team, Whyte Ogbondah, who made the pledge yesterday in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt, said that, the Angels were inspired to bag the three points at stake in the Saturday encounter.
He said that the players were now in high spirits to achieve their targets, after being paid backlog of salaries, bonuses and allowances owed them by the state government last week.
“We are happy and very exited and look forward to win the game because, the team is highly motivated now and we assure our fans out there that we are going for a win”, Coach Ogbondah said.
Meanwhile, the team is leading the league Table, having won all their three matches played so far in the league.
This weekend’s games would be the week four fixtures of the on-going 2015 NWPL League across the federation.
It would be recalled that Rivers Angels are in groups B with capital City Doves, Taraba Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, Edo Queens, C.O.D. Ladies, Sunshine Queens and Pelican Stars of Calabar, Cross Rivers State.
