Nigeria Women Federation League (NWPL) Champions, Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt have pledged to emerge victorious as they take on hosts, Capital Doves FC of Abuja today in a week nine fixture of the on-going 2015 National Women Football League (NWFL).
The match which is scheduled to be played at the National Stadium, Abuja is expected to be keenly contested as the Angels have promised to burst the buggles of their opponents.
The Angels are focused on maintaining their winning streak and will not take anything less than the maximum points at stake.
“We need to keep the flag flying and all we need to continue our unbeaten record is victory. We are going to secure an away victory to ensure that our momentum is maintained”, Coach Whyte Ogbonda said.
However, the homers would not just lie down to be overran without a fight.
After losing the corresponding fixture in Port Harcourt, the Capital Doves promised to pay the Angels back when they visit Abuja and it would be interesting to see how they intend to stop the visitors today. The Angels are currently leading group B with 15 points from five matches played so far in the League.
It would be recalled that the Port Harcourt Angels defeated visiting C.O.D. Ladies 2-0 in the Week 5 encounter to get to where they are now.
