Police Arrest 78 Crime Suspects In Rivers

The Rivers State Police
Command says it arrested 78 crime suspects across the state within the month of June, 2015.
The police made this disclosure in a release signed by the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Ahmad K. Muhammad and made available to journalists in Port Harcourt.
According to the statement, the arrest was in accordance with the police sustained onslaught on violent criminals and recovery of fire arms in illegal hands in recent times in the state and has continued to yield some significant results.
The Police State Public Relations Officer averred that the command’s concerted efforts to dislodge criminals from their safe heavens was not a bluff but a reality that had come to stay until activities are  brought to an end.
The breakdown shows that on the 21st of June, at about 5:40 am men of the anti-cultism unit acting on tip-off information stormed Rumuekini forest and arrested 69 suspected cultists and robbers adding that two among the suspects were fatally wounded in an attempt to escape the arrest. Two Pump action guns, nine live cartridges, a Toyota Camry and assorted household items suspected to be stolen were recovered”.
The breakdown further reviewed that on the 22nd of June, 2015 at about 2.00pm at Borikiri Sand fill, men of anti –cultism unit tracked and arrested six suspects who specialized in care snatching adding that the suspects were among the gang that snatched a Toyota Camry with Reg Num KFS 657 GCN at gun point few days ago in a different operation before they were apprehended.
The police state image maker stated that on 25the June, at about 4.10pm at Ogale-Nchia, members of Anti-Robbery unit of Eleme Division while responding to distress call engaged suspected armed robbers adding that two of the suspects were fatally wounded, while a pump action gun, one locally made pistol, 15 live cartridges, one red mask and assorted charms were all recovered from them during the operation.
He solicited for the continued support of members of the public on credible information that would help the police in their bid to rid the state of any form of criminal activities.
