Olympic Qualifier: Dream Team At Home In PH – Siasia

Head Coach of the Nigeria U-23 football team, Dream team V1, Samson Siasia says the team is currently preparing to tackle their Congolese counterparts in the first leg of a pre-Rio 2016 Olympic qualifier in Port Harcourt Samson Siasia has described the Garden City as a comfortable home for his side.
Speaking with Tidesports after one of the team’s training sessions at the Shell Residential Area’s football field, Siasia said that Rivers people, especially, Governor Nyesom Wike have been exceptional in receiving and supporting them toward having a successful campaign in qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
“It’s been wonderful, the reception has been great, we stay at the Presidential Hotel and they have been taking good care of us. I want to use this opportunity to thank the governor for bringing us over here, and the people of Rivers for all the support. Already, I know that the support would be great on match day”, said Siasia.
He declared that he and his team are at home and promised that they would work hard to reward the Governor and the people with good victory.
“I promise you that these boys would want to reciprocate the good gestures, they won’t disappoint, they’ve been working hard and they are very good players. We’re very prepared, the boys are ready”, added the coach.
He however, admitted that the team needed to work on goal scoring as they need to put away any chance that would be created against the Congolese on Sunday.
Meanwhile, captain of the side, Azubike Okechukwu in a separate chat urged football fans to turn out en-masse to support them as he promised that he and his mates would deliver on match day.
“To the fans, we want everybody to come out on Sunday we’re going to play a very good game and by the special grace of God, we’re gonna win”, he promised.
Ahead of the match scheduled for the main bowl of Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Sunday, Dream Team V1 has played a total of four warm up matches in Port Harcourt scoring 23 goals while conceding three.
