NFF To Keep U-20 Team, Crew
General Secretary of
the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mohammed Sanusi, has said that the federation intends to keep the Under 20 team together to form future Super Eagles.
Sanusi told newsmen in Abuja last week that the NFF has developmental programme which kick started with the Under 17 team.
“For the Flying Eagles team, the federation has no intention to disband it; as I have told people before, we have a very serious developmental programme.
“And we started with the Under 17; and you know most of our Flying Eagles members came from the Golden Eaglets.
“The NFF intends to keep the Under 20 team together so that they will form our future Super Eagles; those who can keep fit will still continue and those who depreciate in their performance will drop.
“ So, the issue of disbanding them does not arise,’’ Sanusi said.
On the coaching crew, Sanusi said: “ I have nothing to say because it is an issue of appointment and it is likely that some of them will stay.
“ While some of them will go up, it is also likely that some of them will pursue their destiny somewhere else.
“I am saying that NFF is not thinking of sacking anyone of the coaching crew,’’ Sanusi said.
The Tidesports source reports that the African champions were sent packing by their German counterpart with 1-0 win at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
