I’II Not Abandon APC – Abe
A former Senator and
Senatorial candidate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last April 11, 2015 election in Rivers State, Senator Magnus Abe, has dismissed speculations that he has dumped APC for the Peoples Democratic party (PDP).
Speaking with newsmen yesterday in Port Harcourt, Senator Abe described the rumour as construe and baseless, saying there is no way he can abandon his party that has a clear vision for Nigerians.
According to him, he was among the first senators who decamped from the P.D.P to APC, when he realized that APC has all what it takes to make a change in Nigeria.
The APC chieftain reiterated his support and unalloyed loyalty to the APC and assured the government candidate of the party in the state, Hon Dakuku Peteside of his support.
He expressed optimism that the ongoing elections petition tribunal on the last election in the state would upturn the victory of the PDP and its candidates in the state.
Senator Abe frowned at the criticism that trailed the invitation of the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC’s) in the state, including the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dame Gesila Khan by the Directorate of Security Services (DSS), insisting that the security agency have the right to invite any body for interrogation on matters that border on security. He explained that election issues that involved killing of people and destruction of election materials, constituted a serious offence.
He called on politicians, and the public to refrain from politics of bitterness and utterances that can endanger security in the state.
